Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PLAT.haus website at plat.haus and mobile application (collectively, the "App") operated by PLATHAUS LLC ("we", "us", "our").

By creating an account, completing a purchase, or otherwise using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Services

PLAT.haus provides a platform to (a) book studio recording sessions, (b) order mix and mastering services, (c) book remote consultations, and (d) purchase beat licenses ("Services"). All Services are performed by PLATHAUS LLC or its authorized engineers.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater) to use the App.

Tier Ladder. PLAT.haus uses a four-tier client ladder — Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum — and an invite-only Label tier. Tier is determined by lifetime activity and may be promoted or demoted by PLATHAUS LLC at any time based on engagement, payment history, and policy compliance. Tier perks (referral credits, mix discounts, priority access, etc.) are subject to change.

Account Deletion. You may delete your account at any time directly in-app via Profile → Delete Account. Deletion permanently removes your profile, in-app messages, uploaded files, and booking history from active systems. Financial records (payment receipts, refund records, license agreements) required for tax, accounting, and IP enforcement purposes are retained in a restricted-access archive for up to seven (7) years as required by law. You may also request deletion by emailing hello@plat.haus.

3. Payments — Pay in Full

Pay-in-Full Model. Every product on PLAT.haus is charged in full at the moment of purchase. We do not collect deposits, partial payments, or balances. The amount shown at checkout is the amount charged.

Saved Payment Methods (PayPal Vault). When you complete a checkout via PayPal, you may opt to save the funding method to your PLAT.haus account. Saved methods are stored by PayPal — not on PLAT.haus servers — and are used to (a) speed up future checkouts and (b) charge in-session extensions for consultations (see §6). By saving a method, you authorize PLATHAUS LLC to initiate charges via your saved method for products you actively confirm in-app. You may remove a saved method any time in Profile → Payment Methods.

Payment Processing. Payments are processed by PayPal, Inc. (PayPal, Venmo, Pay Later, and card payments via the PayPal checkout are all supported funding options). By submitting payment information, you agree to PayPal's User Agreement (paypal.com/us/legalhub/useragreement-full) and Privacy Statement (paypal.com/us/legalhub/privacy-full).

Cash Payments. Cash is only accepted for in-person studio sessions explicitly enabled by an administrator and is settled at the studio. Beats and remote services are never paid in cash.

Prices. Prices are displayed in U.S. dollars before checkout. Prices may change at any time but a confirmed booking or completed purchase retains the price you saw at checkout.

Late-Night Sessions. A studio session that STARTS between 2:00 AM and 8:00 AM (Austin time) carries a flat $200 late-night surcharge, shown before checkout. The surcharge is start-based: a session that begins earlier and runs into that window is not charged. It is waived when another of your sessions with PLAT ends within one hour before the new start, or is still running at it — he is already out, so there is nothing left for the fee to cover. Every 2:00–8:00 AM start requires PLATHAUS LLC's approval, whether or not the surcharge is waived; unapproved requests are declined and refunded in full.

4. Studio Sessions — Cancellation & Refunds

Cancellations are measured against the originally scheduled start time and are calculated on the FULL paid amount (we do not bill deposits separately).

Rescheduling. You may move a confirmed session yourself, free of charge and with no change to what you paid, at any time up to 1 hour before its originally scheduled start. Same-day moves are fine.

No-Shows. If you fail to arrive for a confirmed session without cancelling in advance, the booking is treated as a no-show and is not eligible for refunds.

Block-Only Studios (BARKHAUS). Studios marked as "block-only" (currently BARKHAUS, Spicewood TX) require manual confirmation from the studio owner. When you book a block-only studio:

(a) Your booking enters a "pending studio confirmation" status — no calendar slot is locked yet.

(b) PLATHAUS LLC contacts the studio owner within 24 hours.

(c) If confirmed, your booking flips to "confirmed" and the calendar slot is locked.

(d) If the studio is unavailable, your booking is automatically denied and refunded in full to your original payment method.

(e) If PLATHAUS LLC has not actioned within 24 hours of booking, the system auto-denies and refunds in full.

Refund Timing. Refunds are returned to the original payment method. Card and bank-funded PayPal refunds typically post within 5–10 business days; PayPal-balance refunds typically post within 1–2 business days.

5. Mix & Master — Cancellation & Refunds

Refund Eligibility. Mix and mastering orders are eligible for a full refund up until your order moves to the "Mixing" status. Once the engineer begins work, the order is non-refundable.

Revisions. Each mix order includes two (2) free revision rounds unless your project's terms set a different number; the live revision tracker on the order always shows how many you have left. After the free rounds, each additional revision is half of what the booking cost, with a $25 minimum. Revision notes are submitted through the revision tracker on the order.

Delivery & Storage. Delivered mix files (MP3 previews, WAV masters, stems if ordered) are stored in your Library for 90 days from delivery. After 90 days, files are permanently deleted unless you export them to your own storage (Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud, etc.). Total per-user active storage is capped at 15 GB.

Versions. The Main version is included in the base price. Additional versions (Clean, Instrumental, A Cappella, Clean A Cappella, DJ Version, Performance, Clean Performance) are billed as add-ons at $25 each ($50 each for Label-tier clients).

Ownership of Music. You retain full ownership of your music, recordings, and compositions, except as outlined in §8 (Beat Licenses) below. PLATHAUS LLC does not claim publishing rights to vocal performances, lyrics, or compositions delivered to a mix.

6. Consultations — Pricing, Platforms, Overtime

Pricing. Consultations are sold as flat-fee packs: 1 hour ($100), 2 hours ($180), 3 hours ($250). All packs are paid in full at confirm.

Meeting Platforms. You may choose one of three platforms at booking confirm — Google Meet (default; a Meet link is auto-generated when the booking is created), Discord (PLAT will DM you a server invite after confirm), or FaceTime (PLAT will call the phone number on your profile).

Cancellation & Refunds.

Rescheduling. Same rule as studio sessions (§4): you may move a confirmed consultation yourself, free of charge, at any time up to 1 hour before its originally scheduled start. Inside that last hour it is locked — message PLAT and he will move it if he can. A reschedule keeps the pack you purchased; duration and price are unchanged, and the platform you picked carries over.

Overtime / Extensions. If a consultation runs past its scheduled end time, the first 10 minutes are free of charge. Past that, you (or PLAT) may extend the consultation in +1-hour increments at $100 each, charged instantly to your saved PayPal funding method. Extensions are subject to PLAT's calendar availability and may be unavailable if a subsequent booking would conflict. By saving a payment method (§3) you authorize these charges for extensions you actively confirm in-app.

No-Shows. Same as studio sessions (§4) — no-shows are not eligible for refunds.

7. Beats — ALL SALES FINAL

ALL SALES FINAL. Beat licenses, beat packs, individual tracks, and any digital deliverables in the Beats marketplace are non-refundable in all cases except as required by law. This includes (but is not limited to):

Refunds are only granted in cases of documented unauthorized use (fraud / chargeback / payment dispute), and in such cases PLATHAUS LLC may immediately revoke the license and remove access to all delivered files. See §10 for chargeback policy.

Pre-Listening. Every beat is previewable as a watermarked / streaming preview before purchase. You are responsible for confirming the beat fits your project before completing checkout. Any tagged preview file ("PLAT-tagged" audio) does not constitute a license; you may not release or distribute tagged previews.

License Tiers. Beats are sold under three license tiers:

(a) Regular (MP3 Lease) — $50. Non-exclusive, non-commercial / streaming use. You receive the master MP3 file.

(b) Trackouts (WAV + Trackouts Lease) — $200. Non-exclusive, release-ready use. You receive the master WAV, master MP3, and individual stem trackouts. Sync rights included for releases up to commercial-radio scale; major-label sync and full motion-picture sync require an exclusive purchase.

(c) Exclusive — admin-set price or via accepted offer (typically $1,500–$10,000). Full ownership of the master recording transfers to you. The beat is delisted from the marketplace and PLATHAUS LLC will not re-sell it. Underlying publishing of the production is retained by the producer(s) credited on the beat.

Upgrades. If you already own a lower-tier license to a beat, you may upgrade to a higher tier at the difference in price (e.g. paid $50 MP3 → upgrade to Trackouts is $150, not $200). You cannot re-purchase the same or a lower tier you already own.

Co-Producer Splits. When a beat has co-producers credited, sale proceeds are split per the producer share table attached to the beat. You receive a license to the work-as-a-whole regardless of split — splits are an internal payout matter.

Auto-Generated License Contract. Each beat purchase produces a license PDF auto-attached to your receipt email. The PDF lists buyer, beat, tier, price, producer credits, and the master license terms. The PDF is the controlling license for that purchase — keep it for your records.

Exclusive Offers. If a beat is "accepting offers", you may send a proposed exclusive offer in the App. PLAT may accept, counter, or deny. If accepted, the beat is added to your cart at the agreed price and reserved for 24 hours until checkout completes. If you abandon the cart, the reservation expires and the beat returns to the marketplace.

Custom Beats. You may ask PLAT to make a beat for you in the App. Asking is free. PLAT replies with a price (at least $100), good for 7 days. A non-refundable $100 start (your Credit Bank can cover it) books PLAT's time; the rest of the price is due when you accept the finished beat. Previews are tagged MP3s only and are not a license. Each order includes 2 free change rounds; each extra round is $50. If you pass, or a preview goes 14 days with no reply, the order closes, the start is kept, and the beat stays with PLATHAUS LLC. Once paid in full, the beat is yours as an Exclusive (§7(c)): stems and the license contract follow, and you get 50% off one PLAT Mix of a song on that beat (one use; does not stack with other mix discounts).

8. Intellectual Property

App IP. All branding, copy, design, and code within the App are owned by PLATHAUS LLC. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the App without permission.

Your Content. Audio files you upload for mix and mastering remain your property. You grant PLATHAUS LLC a limited license to host, process, and deliver those files solely to provide the Services you ordered.

Beat IP. Beats sold through PLAT.haus follow the license tier purchased (§7). Until a beat is purchased under the Exclusive tier, the master recording remains owned by PLATHAUS LLC and any credited co-producers.

DMCA Notice & Counter-Notice. PLATHAUS LLC respects intellectual property rights and will respond to valid takedown notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"). If you believe content uploaded or shared through the App infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our Designated Agent at hello@plat.haus including: (i) your physical or electronic signature; (ii) identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed; (iii) identification of the allegedly infringing material and information sufficient to locate it; (iv) your contact information; (v) a statement of good-faith belief that the use is not authorized; and (vi) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act for the rights holder. A user whose content was removed may file a counter-notice to the same address. Repeat infringers will have their accounts terminated.

9. Recording Consent & Promotional Use

By using our Services, you grant PLATHAUS LLC permission to:

(a) Use session photos, behind-the-scenes content, and studio footage for promotional purposes on social media, the App, and marketing materials.

(b) Reference your name or display name as a client for portfolio and promotional purposes.

You may opt out of promotional use at any time by contacting hello@plat.haus. This does not affect any content already published.

PLATHAUS LLC will never release, distribute, or publicly share your unreleased music, vocals, lyrics, or compositions without your explicit written consent.

10. Chargebacks & Disputes

Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or PayPal — instead of contacting hello@plat.haus first — has the following immediate consequences:

(a) All active beat licenses tied to the disputed payment are revoked. Delivered MP3, WAV, and trackout files become unauthorized for use, distribution, or release.

(b) Any pending bookings, mix orders, and consultations tied to the disputed payment are cancelled.

(c) Your account may be suspended or banned from future purchases at PLATHAUS LLC's sole discretion.

(d) PLATHAUS LLC may pursue collection of any released songs containing revoked beats via DMCA takedown to platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Audiomack, etc.) and may pursue legal remedies for unauthorized commercial use.

If you believe a charge is in error, please email hello@plat.haus before disputing — most issues can be resolved in under 24 hours.

11. Communications Consent

By creating an account you consent to receive booking-related and account-related communications via:

(a) Email — sent from no-reply@plat.haus and hello@plat.haus.

(b) Push notifications — delivered through Apple Push Notification Service and Firebase Cloud Messaging. You may disable push in your device settings.

Marketing communications (promotional emails, push) are opt-in and may be managed in Profile → Notifications.

12. Rewards & Referrals

Points, credits, free hours, and other rewards earned through bookings, referrals, milestones, or birthdays have no cash value, are non-transferable, and may expire or be modified by PLATHAUS LLC at any time. Referral credits ($20 per successful referral) apply to any service except exclusive beat purchases.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PLATHAUS LLC from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

(a) Your content infringing on a third party's intellectual property rights (e.g., uncleared samples, unauthorized covers).

(b) Your breach of these Terms.

(c) Your use of beat deliverables outside the scope of your purchased license tier (§7).

You are solely responsible for ensuring your content does not violate the rights of others.

14. Limitation of Liability

PLATHAUS LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App or Services. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the specific Service in question.

15. Force Majeure

PLATHAUS LLC is not liable for delays or failures in performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, power outages, equipment failure, internet outages, pandemics, or government actions. In such events, affected bookings will be rescheduled or refunded at our discretion.

16. Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Services shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached within 30 days, the dispute shall be settled by binding arbitration administered in Austin, Texas, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. Each party shall bear its own costs.

You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis and waive the right to participate in a class action.

17. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, including but not limited to: chargeback fraud, repeated copyright infringement, harassment, or abuse of refund / rewards systems. You may delete your account in-app via Profile → Delete Account (see §2 for what gets removed and what is retained) or by emailing hello@plat.haus.

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any disputes not subject to arbitration shall be resolved in the courts of Travis County, Texas.

19. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be announced via email or in-app notification at least 7 days before taking effect. Continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
